My youngest daughter had sleep issues for the first year of her life and by 13 months she was still waking to be fed two or three times each night. I was ruined! The sustained lack of sleep, alongside the postnatal depression and anxiety I was suffering from had taken its toll and I knew something had to change. Within one week of starting her sleep training, my daughter was sleeping through the night and she has consistently done so ever since – she is now five!
In my opinion, sleep deprivation is one of the worst things in the world, often (and certainly in my case) leading to extreme irritability, irrational behaviour and low mood, all of which can affect your personal relationships and, potentially, your relationship with your child.
The difference teaching my daughter independent sleep skills made to my life was incredible and it was this that inspired me to become a Sleep Consultant. I am passionate about wanting other people to benefit from my experience and I feel privileged to now have the knowledge and ability to help people suffering in this way. Seeking professional help with my daughter’s sleep difficulties was the best thing I ever did, my only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner!
